Due to positive feedback from the 9th January timetable from both pupils and tutors, the new schedule was used again for the 30th January Chamber Music Academy.

We have tactically moved away from 2 ninety minute sessions towards 3 one hour sessions. This allows each group, most of which who only get a chance to play together on these Academy dates, to have a 1 hour session to work independently. Under the supervision of CMA organisers, Charles Sewart and Hattie Rayfield, the groups now have the space to really work together as chamber ensembles by implementing musical ideas that their tutors have given to them and practising sections which they have found technically difficult in greater detail.

On the 30th Janurary we even managed to fit in a short coffee and juice break as well as a mini concert from the Piatti Quartet who were sadly tutoring at the Academy for the final time this academic year.

However, we’re very looking forward to having members of the Jubilee Quartet returning to the Academy on the 19th March!
